Project Description
Gaja is a landscape architect working for Pazi!park as a project manager since 2021. She was educated in Landscape Architecture at the University of Ljubljana and Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. After graduation she acquired valuable experience working abroad at Turenscape Landscape Institute in Beijing, China and Studio AKKA and Urban Institute of Ljubljana in Slovenia. She has over 15 years of experience working in private and public sectors as a practicing landscape architect and an urban planner, gaining awards for several of her projects.
Throughout her professional career, she has been interested in the creation of public open space in connection to sustainable urban development and resilience. Her main interests are children in urban space with the focus on playground design and child participation. Recently, Gaja has been involved in the RE:PLAY (Redesigning Playscapes with Children in the Western Balkans) project co-founded by the Creative Europe programme that highlights the significance of designing spaces with children and pioneers a co-creative design process involving children as its primary collaborators in the region.
Gaja is also one of the co-founders of Pazi!park, a former member of the Slovenian Association of Landscape Architects executive board and a member of European KIDS Placemaking group.
