Project Description
After finishing her studies of landscape architecture in Ljubljana, she was drawn to the slovenian seaside, where she has been working in the field of nature conservation for more than two decades. The sea and the trees are her great love. Through nature conservation guidelines and projects, she raises awareness among decision-makers and spatial planners of the importance of preserving and restoring the natural elements of space.
In the field of nature conservation she focuses on strategic communication and has implemented several local and international projects in cooperation with a wide variety of stakeholders. In the period of 2016-2020, as a representative of the Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Nature Conservation, she co-led the EUSALP Action Group 7, focusing on Green Infrastructure. She connected with the members of Pazi!park while working in the executive board of the Slovenian Association of Landscape Architects. Later on she cooperated with Pazi!park on preparation of a publication about exceptional trees in the municipality of Logatec and eventually joined Pazi!park team as she got involved in the RE:PLAY project.
Since 2020 she has devoted herself to trees as part of her independent activity as the »White Birch«. She advises local communities and individuals on tree care and landscaping in cities, writes and publishes online, organizes guided walks among trees and nature days for children. Her wish is for all to grow as individuals and as a society, to deepen our respect for nature and natural elements of our living environments.
