Picnic voting party

The sun, the desire for socializing, and the invitation from Pazi!park and Mladi zmaji attracted a crowd of children and adults to the playground of Elementary school Karel Destovnik Kajuha on a warm autumn afternoon.

More than 40 children gathered at the autumn picnic, also with the intention of testing and voting for new urban equipment. Children enjoyed themselves on the new seating and play equipment, designed as part of the RE:PLAY project and installed on the school playground at the beginning of the summer vacation. The urban equipment is a completely new idea from Pazi!park, which has been inspected, tested, and received an appropriate safety certificate.

Children tested each element of the new equipment, demonstrating how to use it and all the activities they can do on it, eagerly posing for our photographers. They expressed their opinions on which equipment they liked most and which they liked less. The response was wonderfully massive, and the results were interesting. More than 40 pupils from 1st to 7th grade participated in the voting, and some parents also joined. Children largely agreed on their favorite elements, with the clear winner being the playful “S element.” Parent opinions were somewhat different, voting for the more conventional equipment

When the testing and voting ended, the girls gathered around the Mladi zmaji and started crocheting, while the boys continued playing ball games. Parents continued to sit on the new seating equipment. Simple elements, especially during autumn, winter, and spring, allow pupils and other visitors to the schoolyard to use the space more easily. The voting could be an incentive for school to install additional pieces of equipment in the future.
