Parents support the UrbanOasis project and more outdoor activities!

A survey conducted among parents of first triad students at Prežihov Voranc Primary School revealed strong support for the UrbanOasis project and a desire for greater integration of nature into school life. An impressive 87.5% of parents emphasized the importance of time spent outdoors for their children, while 71.9% believe their children currently do not have enough opportunities for this at school.

Parents identified practical learning and environmental stewardship (25%), free play (20.3%), and outdoor classes (18.8%) as the most desirable activities for the new green space. They also expressed strong support for environmental education, with 68.3% rating it as extremely important, and 92.2% believing the UrbanOaza project will positively impact children’s awareness of nature and climate change.

More than 75% of parents are willing to participate in the development and maintenance of the green spaces, highlighting a strong connection between the school and the local community. The survey results clearly indicate that parents see the project as a vital step towards a more sustainable and child-friendly school.
